About Us

History
Optilux Inc. was formed to expand Varioptic’s liquid lens actuator technology and optimize it for the consumer camera phone market.  After having successfully conquered the industrial market (such as high-speed industrial bar-code scanners) Varioptic began to look at the opportunities in he much larger camera phone market.

In order to successfully focus on these two very different markets, Varioptic was sold to  Parrot S.A. to continue efforts in the industrial market while Optilux Inc. was formed by the former CEO of Varioptic to focus on the camera phone market.  Optilux has the exclusive rights to bring Varioptic’s proven technology to this new market.

Focus
Optilux will focus on:

  • Optimizing the Varioptic technology for the camera phone market
  • Creating new products with geared toward the unique needs of the camera phone market
  • Implementing new manufacturing technologies appropriate for the scale and demands of mobile markets
  • Creating a fast moving, responsive, innovative and high-quality focused culture appropriate to the speed of development in today’s camera phone market

Approach
Optilux believes that the Varioptic technology is the lens actuator technology and most appropriate for camera phones.  But as an independent company, Optilux will integrate appropriate innovations from other companies as well.

Continuity
Customers using or evaluating Varioptic products will not see a gap in support.  Varioptic and Optilux will continue to cooperate on the core technology.  Hamid Farzaneh, the outgoing CEO of Varioptic will lead Optilux.  Optilux has arranged for customers to continue to receive support from Variotpic as needed.
